Fundamentals of Wound Care

Overview

The Fundamentals of Wound Care course has been designed to support healthcare professionals to develop their knowledge regarding normal and abnormal wound healing processes, by applying evidence into practice.

Whilst progressing through this module you will learn how to promote good wound healing and avoid, when possible, wound chronicity. A patient centred approach, involving the multidisciplinary team (MDT) is paramount in providing quality wound care and promoting patient’s autonomy, hence the focus of this course being holistic assessment and planning with involvement of all key stakeholders, to provide specialist wound care.

Aim

Wound care knowledge and skills are required on a daily basis by staff in the UK and abroad, so completing this module will provide key information to be able to not only provide appropriate care but also to educate other staff and patients/carers/family members.
